Non-Binary Turbo Codes Interleavers

چکیده
In this paper the particularities of the interleavers used in the case of the Recursive Systematic Convolutional Code (RSC), n/(n+2) rate, with n=2, unpunctured non-binary turbo codes (NBTC) were described. The interleavers: block, pseudo-random and new interleaving methods are presented. These new interleaving methods were elaborated starting from the particular form of the date accepted by non-binary turbo codes and they constitute an extension of the classic methods. The AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise) and the BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying) modulation were employed. The turbo decoder was used 15 iterations for each block. A Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) stop criterion was selected. The BER (Bit Error Rate) and FER (Frame Error Rate) performances for small interleaver lengths (N=448) and for high interleaver lengths (more than 1000 bits) were obtained. In the case of FER performances, for each interleaving length, the Shannon’s limits were computed, too.

Design of Cycle Optimized Interleavers for Turbo Codes
In this paper the design of interleavers for turbo codes is considered. The two major criteria for the construction are the minimal distance and the passing of the extrinsic information between the decoders due to the iterative structure of the decoder. This second criterion depends on the number of short cycles in the Tanner graph of the turbo codes. The principal aim of the proposed interleav...
متن کاملQuadratic Permutation Polynomial Interleavers for 3gpp Lte Turbo Codes
The contention-free property of interleavers is one of the key design requirements for the parallel decoding implementations of turbo codes in order to achieve high decoding throughput. Quadratic permutation polynomial (QPP) interleavers are maximum contention-free (MCF), i.e., every factor dividing the interleaver length becomes a possible degree of parallel decoding processing without any mem...
متن کاملPaper Application of convolutional interleavers in turbo codes with unequal error protection
This paper deals with an application of convolutional interleavers in unequal error protection (UEP) turbo codes. The constructed convolutional interleavers act as block interleavers by inserting a number of stuff bits into the interleaver memories at the end of each data block. Based on the properties of this interleaver, three different models of UEP turbo codes are suggested. Simulation resu...
متن کاملOn the Design and Performance of high throughput parallel block and random interleavers for Turbo Codes
It is known that one of the essential building blocks of turbo codes is the interleaver and its design using random, semi-random (S-Random) and deterministic permutations. In this paper, two new types of turbo code interleavers, Enhanced Block S-Random (EBSR) interleaver is proposed. The design algorithm for the new interleaver is described in depth, and the simulation results are compared to t...
متن کاملImproved Space-time Turbo Codes with Full Spatial Diversity over Integer Ring
In this paper, we propose the space-time turbo codes designed over integer ring for BPSK and QPSK modulation. The proposed spacetime turbo codes addeve the full spatial diversity and can be decoded using the iterative binary soft-input sofl-output (SISO) algorithm. The BPSK/QPSK binary rank criterion is used to find the interleavers which guarantee the full spatial diversity. It is shown that t...
